The JFK is one of the busiest airports in the world hosting thousands of travelers every day. While there are a variety of transportation sources, to and from the airport, available to the travelers the subway stands out as the least costly and easily accessible. Although many claim that the subway is long but none can deny the fact that it is the cheapest source available.

To use the subway from JFK one needs to be aware of the route. Experienced travelers know exactly which train to ride in order to arrive at their destination in time. According to the frequent users the only problem associated with the subway from JFK is the long journey and the time that is wasted. On the other hand when we compare this to the amount of money one saves from taking a subway the result is significant enough to cover for the lost time. I do not intend to cover only the advantages of the subway from JFK but till now I have presented a figure which one saves. Now unfortunately when we start listing the disadvantages of the subway they exceed the advantages numerically. The first major disadvantage of the subway is the long route and time wasted due to it. This is a problem that has caused many subway users to switch to other sources of transportation. Secondly the subway system is complex and only experienced travelers can take full advantage of it. The complexity of the system does not lie in the availability rather it is regarding the choices. Many amateurs tend to board trains that take a longer route which they could have avoided if they had taken an alternate one.

The third major problem is the cramped environment of the subway trains where maximum number of people try and somehow manage to find their way in to an already jam packed area. The physical state in which one boards a subway is quite different to one he comes out in. Sweating and almost dragging himself out of the jam packed train does not make a traveler happy.

After discussing the positive and the negatives we can make a comparison just to arrive at a general conclusion about the subway from JFK. The main question that needs to be addressed is whether the cost saving of $38 is enough to cover for an unpleasant journey and wastage of your precious time. The answers for this might differ for every one of us and thus so will the choices. But the subway from JFK would stand as it has done for so many years
